The campaign – Weaving Payments Magic – was a key part of Thredd’s rebrand (formerly GPS), driven by their adept management of diverse fintech services. This was encapsulated by Redwood | BBDO, and we were brought in to turn this vision into reality using the magic of stop motion and pixilation.

Brief – Weaving Payments Magic

Our task was to transform four scripts from Redwood | BBDO into concise fifteen-second films for Thredd’s LinkedIn B2B audience.

Each film showcased a key Thredd offering – payment cards, uptime, fraud prevention, and custom solutions. All were created in line with the new brand style – a muted beige backdrop with bright accents.

Process

Stop-motion animation with pixilation gave us a unique storytelling method. By manipulating hand models and props, we captured magic in camera, no need for VFX.

We used 2D animations for each film to nail down timings. This helped us set the pace for each narrative.

Prop sourcing was meticulous to ensure seamless magic and transactions. We test shot scenarios in our studio, laying the groundwork for a smooth shoot.

Replacement animation allowed for object transformations. Rigging techniques helped animate a real* burger and chips, landing flawlessly on a levitating plate.

Sound design wrapped up the films, adding depth and personality.

We can’t disclose everything – we want to keep our Magic Circle seat.

*A note for the environmentally aware, it was a vegan burger as we are an Adgreen-trained production partner ;-P
